Dr. Simos Kedikoglou, MD, CFA, MBA – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dr. Simos Kedikoglou is the CEO of Impulse Dynamics since 2013 and serves on the Company’s Board of Directors. He was previously a Corporate Vice President of Business Development for Boston Scientific with responsibility for acquisitions, licensing and distribution deals in the US, Europe and Asia. Prior to Boston Scientific, Simos was an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company in the US, focusing on acquisitions in pharmaceutical and medical devices Simos holds a Medical Degree from the University of Athens, Greece, an MBA with distinction and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University, and he is a CFA Charterholder.
Eric Goarin – Vice President Sales & Marketing
Mr. Eric Goarin has been serving our company since April 2013 operating out of Berlin, Germany. He joined Impulse Dynamics with a strong international sales background and over 15 years experience in the healthcare field. He has focused on interventional devices in the neuroscience, cardiac and peripheral vascular space. Most recently, Mr. Goarin worked at Penumbra, Inc. where he acted as VP Sales & Marketing Europe, leading the business from start-up in Germany in 2008 to a significant player of the Interventional Neuroradiology in Europe in 2013. Prior to that, he worked at Micrus Endovascular Corp. where he earned all top sales awards from the first year on (Rookie of the year EMEA, President’s Club, Member of the Sales Advisory Board WW) and earlier at Merit Medical Inc. from 2001 to 2005, where he led his region to above plan results every year, earning him top honors in sales achievement. Mr. Goarin received his Master of Business Administration degree in Fontainebleau, France.
Daniel Burkhoff MD, PhD – Vice President and Medical Director
Dr. Burkhoff has been with Impulse Dynamics for the last 11 years, and is one of the leaders of the design of the Company’s technology and clinical trials in the US and Europe. Dr. Burkhoff holds a degree in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University and Medical and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The Johns Hopkins University. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine, Dr. Burkhoff completed a Fellowship in Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 1992, he established a cardiac physiology research laboratory at Columbia University, which conducted basic and translational research in the fields of heart failure and angiogenesis. He currently retains a position of Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University. Dr Burkhoff is published widely in the field of heart failure and medical devices.
David Prutchi, PhD – Executive Vice President, Product Development
Dr. Prutchi joined Impulse Dynamics in 1998. Prior to joining the Company, he worked at Sulzer-Intermedics Inc. where he was responsible for Bradycardia Advanced Technology Development and led the design and development of Intermedics’ next-generation implantable cardiac pacemaker.Dr. Prutchi has over twenty years of experience in biomedical R&D, and medical electronic instrumentation design and management. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, a B.Sc. in Exact Sciences and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering, all from Tel-Aviv University. Dr. Prutchi conducted Post-Doctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as a lecturer. He has published over thirty papers and holds close to seventy patents in the field of active implantable medical devices. He is the author of the book “Design and Development of Medical Electronic Instrumentation – A Practical Perspective of the Design, Construction and Test of Medical Devices” published by John Wiley & Sons.
Benny Rousso, PhD – Vice President of R & D, Intellectual Property,
and General Manager ID Israel
Dr. Rousso joined Impulse in 1998, and currently heads the company’s research activities and the company’s intellectual property. He is managing the Israeli center since 2005, and responsible for the company’s sales in markets operated through distributors and sales agents. Dr. Rousso has over 20 years of technological and business experience, including managing developments of various telecom and biomedical technologies, and as a co-founder and board member of biomedical companies. Dr. Rousso holds academic degrees in computer sciences (PhD), as well as in mathematics and physics (cum laude) from the Hebrew University, Israel. He has graduated with honors from the prestigious Talpiot program and completed over an 8-year career at an elite research and development division of the Israel Defense Forces, where he managed various R&D activities. Dr. Rousso is a co-inventor of over 120 patents and patent applications and is a co-author of over 20 publications.
