Dr. Simos Kedikoglou, MD, CFA, MBA – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dr. Simos Kedikoglou is the CEO of Impulse Dynamics since 2013 and serves on the Company’s Board of Directors. He was previously a Corporate Vice President of Business Development for Boston Scientific with responsibility for acquisitions, licensing and distribution deals in the US, Europe and Asia. Prior to Boston Scientific, Simos was an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company in the US, focusing on acquisitions in pharmaceutical and medical devices Simos holds a Medical Degree from the University of Athens, Greece, an MBA with distinction and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University, and he is a CFA Charterholder.
Daniel Burkhoff MD, PhD – Vice President and Medical Director
Dr. Burkhoff has been with Impulse Dynamics for the last 11 years, and is one of the leaders of the design of the Company’s technology and clinical trials in the US and Europe. Dr. Burkhoff holds a degree in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University and Medical and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The Johns Hopkins University. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine, Dr. Burkhoff completed a Fellowship in Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 1992, he established a cardiac physiology research laboratory at Columbia University, which conducted basic and translational research in the fields of heart failure and angiogenesis. He currently retains a position of Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University. Dr Burkhoff is published widely in the field of heart failure and medical devices.
David Prutchi, PhD – Executive Vice President, Product Development
Dr. Prutchi joined Impulse Dynamics in 1998. Prior to joining the Company, he worked at Sulzer-Intermedics Inc. where he was responsible for Bradycardia Advanced Technology Development and led the design and development of Intermedics’ next-generation implantable cardiac pacemaker.Dr. Prutchi has over twenty years of experience in biomedical R&D, and medical electronic instrumentation design and management. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, a B.Sc. in Exact Sciences and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering, all from Tel-Aviv University. Dr. Prutchi conducted Post-Doctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as a lecturer. He has published over thirty papers and holds close to seventy patents in the field of active implantable medical devices. He is the author of the book “Design and Development of Medical Electronic Instrumentation – A Practical Perspective of the Design, Construction and Test of Medical Devices” published by John Wiley & Sons.
Benny Rousso, PhD – Vice President of R & D, Intellectual Property,
and General Manager ID Israel
Dr. Rousso joined Impulse in 1998, and currently heads the company’s research activities and the company’s intellectual property. He is managing the Israeli center since 2005, and responsible for the company’s sales in markets operated through distributors and sales agents. Dr. Rousso has over 20 years of technological and business experience, including managing developments of various telecom and biomedical technologies, and as a co-founder and board member of biomedical companies. Dr. Rousso holds academic degrees in computer sciences (PhD), as well as in mathematics and physics (cum laude) from the Hebrew University, Israel. He has graduated with honors from the prestigious Talpiot program and completed over an 8-year career at an elite research and development division of the Israel Defense Forces, where he managed various R&D activities. Dr. Rousso is a co-inventor of over 120 patents and patent applications and is a co-author of over 20 publications.
Paul Manson BSc ACA – Vice President Finance
Paul Manson joined Impulse Dynamics in 2015 bringing over 30 years of international financial and management experience. Before joining Impulse Dynamics he held senior positions at Smiths Group plc as Financial Controller, Finance Director and General Manager in Germany and the UK.
Prior to Smiths Group he worked for an international firm of consultants and an investment bank. He trained with KPMG in London to become a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting from Bristol University in England.
Dr. Deborah L. Morley, Ph.D. – VP Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance
Dr. Morley has been with Impulse Dynamics since early 2014 and currently leads the Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Department. Before joining Impulse Dynamics Dr. Morley was Vice President of Clinical Affairs at AtriCure, Inc. From 2004 to 2008, Dr. Morley served as Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs for CircuLite, Inc. She worked for the Novacor division of Baxter Healthcare as Senior Clinical Scientist and Manager, Clinical Affairs for the Novacor Division from 2004 to 2006 in various roles. Dr. Morley served as Vice President of Clinical Affairs at ReliantHeart Inc. from 1996 to 2004 and oversaw all of its clinical issues. From 1992 to 1994, Dr. Morley was Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Research Director of Heart Failure and Transplant at Hahnemann University of Philadelphia. While at Hahnemann, Dr. Morley also worked closely with surgeons and cardiologists as a co-investigator for a left ventricular assist device project in clinical trials. She served on the faculty of Temple and Hahnemann Universities in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Morley received her Ph.D. in Medical Physiology from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University.
Marc Borenstein – General Counsel & Secretary
Marc Borenstein is the General Counsel & Secretary since August 2012 and he also serves as VP Legal Counsel and Secretary of the Hobart Group. Before that, he served as VP General Counsel & Secretary at Alvarion Ltd and Deputy General Counsel at ECI Telecom, two NASDAQ traded companies. He served as acting General Counsel of ECI Telecom when it was purchased by private investors for $1.25 Billion. Marc has vast experience in commercial transactions and corporate matters. He holds an LLB and LLM from Brussels University and an LLM from University College London. He has been a member of the Israel Bar Association since 2001.
Nitsan Mor – VP HR
Mrs. Mor joined Impulse Dynamics in 2014 bringing over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and Corporate Management. Mrs. Mor also serves as the VP HR at Hobart Group International. Before Joining Hobart Group International, Mrs. Mor served as the Marketing and Communications Director of BATM, Head of Human Resources and Operations at Comgates, and Chief Operating Officer at Tikshuv & Yashir 2000. Mrs. Mor holds an Executive MBA from the Bar Ilan University and an M.A in Management and Professional Communications from Clark University, USA and a B.A in Business Administration (with a major in Human Resources).
